DAD FINDS SON’S CORPSE DUMPED IN THE STREET

- BY CHRISTINAH MOTLHABANE

DEVASTATED:

“I suspect he was stabbed in the private parts because he had dark blood stains on the trousers. He was wearing clothes, so we could not see exactly where he was stabbed. He also had a deep wound under his arm.”

It was in this crumpled state that Morgan Tshekiso found his son’s butchered body, dumped down a dusty backstreet on a cold night in Mathangwane’s Mpatane ward.

Known as ‘Puu’ on the streets of Monarch where he lived, 31-year-old Kelebogile Kaisara was slain on Saturday 19th June.

His murder was greeted with mixed reactions in the community.

Some took to Facebook to celebrate his fall, labelling Kaisara a notorious troublemaker who had terrorised the area for years. Others insisted he was a decent man and was being mistaken for a different Monarch thug.

Speaking to The Voice four days after his boy’s murder, Tshekiso, 52, revealed he was with his son on the night he died.

KILLED

“I left him going to sleep and, as I was sleeping with his mother, a few hours later, someone knocked on our door saying our son has been killed!

“I quickly rushed to the crime scene with his mother and indeed we found him lying motionless; in his hand there was a wooden knife handle. I hurried home to grab a blanket to cover his body while waiting for the police,” explained the grieving dad, narrating his devastating tale from his home in Somerset.

Requesting the interview be kept as brief as possible, Tshekiso added Kaisara had a history with his suspected killer.

“I do not know what really transpired but I can confirm that the man who allgedly killed him had been following him for some time now. I remember one day Puu asked the suspect why he was following him as he had not done anything bad to him,” closed the father, his voice muffled by both mask and grief.

Taking over the narrative, the deceased’s uncle, Keleboetse Madidimale, 54, described his nephew as a tough but friendly soul.

“Puu was a good person who did not want to be hurt because if you hurt him, he also hurt you. That is how I knew him, he was a good person whom when you greeted, he would also greet back.

“He was just a child who we used to send to do some errands here at home. He was not difficult at all,” maintained Madidimale, adding he lived with Kaisara for several years.

Meanwhile, the alleged killer, 24-year-old Obusitswe Molosiwa was arraigned before Francistown Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday. With investigations still at an early stage, Molosiwa was remanded in custody and is due to appear again on 13th July for status report.

In a short interview, Tatitown Station Commander, Edward Leposo, told The Voice his office was alerted to the incident at around 01:40hrs on the night it happened.

“Even though we are still investigating, we suspect there was a fight between two groups of boys. We suspect after the misunderstanding the deceased was ambushed and stabbed with a sharp object,” disclosed the top cop, noting this was the 3rd murder case recorded in his jurisdiction since the start of the year.

Kaisara was laid to rest in Francistown at the weekend.
