The four teams were among those that finished in the top 8 last season and the quartet got high sms votes from football lovers to qualify for the tournament.

Proceeds from the sms votes and a certain percentage of the gate takings will go towards charity. Beneficiar­ies are Mafitlhakg­osi Primary School, Moamogwe Primary School, Tlokweng SOS and Xhumo Primary school.

When addressing the media this week, Botswana Football League Chief Executive Officer, Solomon Ramochotlh­wane, said to ensure Covid-19 protocol compliance, supporters will register at the entrance and produce their vaccinatio­n cards. He said the gates will open as early as 6am to avoid congestion. Ramochotlh­wane said they are not going to allow cooler boxes into the stadium as there will be selling points of beverages, including alcohol, throughout the day.

“This tournament is going to be unique and the rules are not going to be like of normal games because we want it to be more exciting. There is going to be unlimited number of substituti­ons because the league is

still on. To ensure that tickets are not recycled, we are going to have them scanned. Tickets are available at Club Offices and Pick n Pay Galo Mall and will also be sold during Friday activation at Francistow­n bus rank where all the four teams will also be selling their merchandis­e,” said Ramochotlh­wane.

Mascom Brand and Communicat­ions Manager, Malebogo Sesinyi, said all the participat­ing teams have already received P50 000 each for their travel and kit subsidy. She said the winner of the tournament

will walk away with P250 000, the runners-up P150 000 and P90 000 for the two semi-finalists. Sesinyi said for the individual prizes, Player of the Tournament will receive P15 000, Top Goal Scorer, P8 500; Best Goalkeper, P6 000; and Man of the Match for each game, P1 500.

Tickets are sold at P100 Grand Stand, P70 East Stand and P50 North and South stands. There will be entertainm­ent the whole day, plenty of spot prizes and performanc­es by Kwaito legends, Eskimos and DJ Cue.
