SAVUTI, Khwai, Linyanti group of camps has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with Botswana Netball Association (BONA) to a tune of P234,850.00 ahead of their fast five tournament scheduled for this weekend in Gaborone.

Speaking at the sponsorship launch, which was held at Crocodile Camp and Safari Spa on Thursday, SKL group of camps Directors, Reaboka and Connie Mbulawa, revealed that they have decided to join forces with the association as a way of cultivating sports tourism.

“We have witnessed this Easter holiday during the Mascom Derby that business big or small boomed alike as people travelled from all over the country to attend the race. We also want to develop netball in the northwest so that one day we will be able to host games that will benefit the communities” said Mbulawa.

According to Mbulawa, they have also decided to associate with the sport as a way of empowering women since it is female-dominated.

“We want to revive the sport because, just as tourism was crippled by Covid-19, sports was affected alike,” added Mbulawa.

For her part, Deputy District Commissioner, Boitshwarelo Sylvia Rapebana, said that sports and recreation help strengthen communities as it is not always about winning but building healthier communities .

Receiving the cheque, BONA President, Malebo Raditladi Nkgakile, revealed that the sponsorship comes at a time where they need funds to prepare for Mens African Cup scheduled for 2023 and Women’s World Cup qualifiers which are set to be hosted in South Africa, Pretoria from 22nd to 27th August.
