HARMONISING PRAISE AND PUBLIC RELATIONS

-

ALANKAY, real name Keikanne Alan Ranthepha, is driven by passion to praise and worship God.

He is a stout praise and worshipper with two gospel albums under his belt and a wealth of experience in the music industry. The Voice Reporter, DANIEL CHIDA, brings you the new Director of Corporate Communication at BPOPF, in an interview where one could easily pick that the Sefhophe-born and-bred man wants nothing but to inspire ordinary men and women, young and old, to come closer to God through his genuine ministry of praise and worship.

Born on April 9th, the Aries man said he had a turbulent childhood after losing his father while he was still an infant and being raised by a single mother who at all times insisted on devotion to the Lord.

His mother also made sure he was well-versed in the Christian faith from his earliest years which helped him, not only to thrive spiritually in the church environment but to also explore talents such as poetry, piano playing and singing.

Kindly introduce yourself for the benefit of our readers, who are reading about you for the first time? Who is Alan Ranthepha?

Well, greetings to all the readers! I’m Alan Ranthepha, but most folks know me by my stage name, Alankay. I’m a passionate worshipper on a mission to inspire souls to draw closer to the Divine through the power of music. Born and raised amidst the serene landscapes of Sefhophe, I come from a family of four boys and three girls and I am the second born. I have been blessed with a journey that is intertwined with both pain and the comforting embrace of faith. Music has been my beacon, guiding me through life’s twists and turns, and it’s an honour to share that journey with you all.

portfolio looks like?

My professional journey is as diverse as the melodies I weave in my music. Beyond the stage, I have recently been entrusted with the mantle of Director of Corporate Communication at the prestigious Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund (BPOPF), which has taken precedence of my time. It’s a role that calls for finesse in nurturing the Fund’s brand and corporate image, a challenge I embrace with fervour. And, of course, my musical endeavours have adorned my path for over 15 years now, with two gospel albums under my belt and a recent foray into the soulstirring realm of Neo-soul. Before I joined BPOPF, I had worked for Botswana Defence Force still under the communication field.
