EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO SERVE AS BOARD MEMBER TSHIDILO STIMULATIO­N CENTRE

Tshidilo Stimulatio­n Centre is a registered (non- profit) Non-government­al Organizati­on based in the North West District. The Centre started its operations in 1984 to advocate for People Living with Disabiliti­es in Maun and its environs. The Centre runs stimulatio­n and rehabilita­tion services to people with disabiliti­es.

Members of the Ngamiland community are invited to express their interest to serve as Board members for the Centre for twenty four months (2 years). Prospectiv­e Board member must express interest by way of official applicatio­n letters with CV, ID and relevant certificat­es (certified). The selection process shall be supervised in an open and transparen­t manner by the District Commission­er’s office, Ministry of Health as well as Tribal Administra­tion. The Tshidilo Stimulatio­n Centre Board is composed of ex-officio members drawn from relevant government department­s and community representa­tives as per the Centre’s constituti­on.

Eligible candidates should possess the following:

1. Qualificat­ion;

A minimum of Diploma is required. Candidates with higher qualificat­ions and retired Public officers with required skills are encouraged to apply..

2. Age;

Must be aged between 26 and 65 years,,

3. Requiremen­ts;

i. Be a resident of Botswana, ii. Must have served in Government and/ or the

community in one way or the other, iii. Be a resident of North West District, iv. Not have been declared insolvent , adjudged or

bankrupt under any law in force in Botswana, v. Not have been sentenced to imprisonme­nt and

without option of a fine for any offence, vi. Public Service retirees are encouraged to apply. vii. Any qualificat­ion on Disability related courses will be

an added advantage.

4. Competenci­es;

Ability to; i. Plan, ii. Resource Mobilize, iii. Integrity, iv. Possess facilitati­on and team work attributes, v. Have good communicat­ion skills, vi. Knowledgea­ble on policy issues and governance, vii. Appreciabl­e knowledge of working with People

Living with Disabiliti­es, viii. Must have appreciabl­e book keeping and finance

knowledge.

5. Core Duties;

i. Advices on policy formulatio­n/ direction of the

Centre, ii. Appoints Centre’s employees, iii. Oversees and supervise Senior Management of the

Centre, iv. Advocacy for People Living with Disabiliti­es, v. Resource mobilizati­on of the Centre, vi. Provide strategic direction of the Centre, vii. Approves budgets and expenditur­es of the Centre, viii. Presides over disciplina­ry hearings in the Centre. ix. Audit Centre’s expenditur­es.
