EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO SERVE AS BOARD MEMBER TSHIDILO STIMULATION CENTRE
Tshidilo Stimulation Centre is a registered (non- profit) Non-governmental Organization based in the North West District. The Centre started its operations in 1984 to advocate for People Living with Disabilities in Maun and its environs. The Centre runs stimulation and rehabilitation services to people with disabilities.
Members of the Ngamiland community are invited to express their interest to serve as Board members for the Centre for twenty four months (2 years). Prospective Board member must express interest by way of official application letters with CV, ID and relevant certificates (certified). The selection process shall be supervised in an open and transparent manner by the District Commissioner’s office, Ministry of Health as well as Tribal Administration. The Tshidilo Stimulation Centre Board is composed of ex-officio members drawn from relevant government departments and community representatives as per the Centre’s constitution.
Eligible candidates should possess the following:
1. Qualification;
A minimum of Diploma is required. Candidates with higher qualifications and retired Public officers with required skills are encouraged to apply..
2. Age;
Must be aged between 26 and 65 years,,
3. Requirements;
i. Be a resident of Botswana, ii. Must have served in Government and/ or the
community in one way or the other, iii. Be a resident of North West District, iv. Not have been declared insolvent , adjudged or
bankrupt under any law in force in Botswana, v. Not have been sentenced to imprisonment and
without option of a fine for any offence, vi. Public Service retirees are encouraged to apply. vii. Any qualification on Disability related courses will be
an added advantage.
4. Competencies;
Ability to; i. Plan, ii. Resource Mobilize, iii. Integrity, iv. Possess facilitation and team work attributes, v. Have good communication skills, vi. Knowledgeable on policy issues and governance, vii. Appreciable knowledge of working with People
Living with Disabilities, viii. Must have appreciable book keeping and finance
knowledge.
5. Core Duties;
i. Advices on policy formulation/ direction of the
Centre, ii. Appoints Centre’s employees, iii. Oversees and supervise Senior Management of the
Centre, iv. Advocacy for People Living with Disabilities, v. Resource mobilization of the Centre, vi. Provide strategic direction of the Centre, vii. Approves budgets and expenditures of the Centre, viii. Presides over disciplinary hearings in the Centre. ix. Audit Centre’s expenditures.
