The strangest of the strange awaits you in the sand, silt, and rubble. Just make sure than when you go to visit, you don't muck it all up!
DIVING IN MUCK is one of the best ways to find the strangest creatures in Asia Pacific, but in a lot of places, each rare and unusual critter is in high demand. This means that these animals are under increasing pressure from divers and are being disturbed repeatedly throughout the day. Our presence has a significant impact on the creatures’ habitat as well as on their natural behaviours. When we are crowding around them, vying for photos, it means they can’t get on with the essential aspects of living – eating, breeding, defending territory, and just chilling out!
Get out there in search of the weird and wonderful, but do remember that you are one of many visitors to their world that day, and try to ensure that your presence is as unobtrusive as possible!

Let your guide know you don’t want them to touch or disturb the marine life Crowd any critters you find; make sure that they have an escape route if they feel threatened

Stay off the bottom and watch your fins to avoid accidental damage to marine life or the environment Rest or lie on the bottom until you can be absolutely sure that the area is devoid of marine life

Practise good buoyancy and dive in a horizontal position so that you’re not stirring up sediment Remove any "souvenirs" from the site, such as shells – these can be important habitats
