Environmental Photo of the Year
“When I was on a dive in Alor, West Timor, Indonesia, I happened to observe the local fishermen placing the nets into the water by hand, being careful not to destroy the corals. It was then that I realised how important it is for our fishermen to garner a respect for the sea and its inhabitants. But this respect must also extend to all of us. In the face of climate change and human destruction, our ocean is being emptied out rapidly, and not enough people care to do something about it.”
