T-Shop eyeing growth with plan for IPO

- Hor Kimsay

T-SHOP Cambodia, a Phnom-Penh based electronics distributor, is planning an aggressive push into the provinces through company-owned and franchise outlets, and will look to raise capital for expansion by offering shares on the local stock exchange, the company’s CEO said yesterday.

“We want to expand our business to all provinces in Cambodia and import more variety of products for our customers,” said Bung Hor.

Founded in 2012, T-Shop specialises in mobile phone and car accessories. The company currently operates four branches in Phnom Penh and has franchised two other branches.

According to Hor, one of these franchise shops is scheduled to open in the TK Avenue shopping centre later this week. The other is located in the provincial capital of Tboung Khmum province and is being prepared for its launch.

Hor said he plans to take the store brand nationwide, with companyowned and franchise branches planned in Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, Battambang and Kampong Cham provinces.

He said that the expansion will require heavy capital, some of it coming through franchise licences, with the remainder expected to be raised through an initial public offering on the Cambodian Securities Exchange (CSX).

“We are learning the criteria on how to list on the stock exchange as we are committed to a succesful IPO within the next two years,” he said.
