- HS Manjunath

THE National Olympic Committee of Cambodia and longtime partner NagaWorld yesterday jointly launched the “Go For Gold” initiative ahead of the SEA Games in Malaysia later this month.

At a media launch at Phnom Penh shopping centre NagaCity Walk yesterday morning, select athletes sported the Games apparel sponsored by NagaWorld during a fashion show-style presentation.

First Vice President of the NOCC Nouth Sa An, who is also secretary of state in the Ministry of Interior, and Sec- retary-General Vath Chamroeun joined NagaWorld senior management by the stage to watch the 45-minute show.

NagaWorld has been supporting the Cambodian contingent by providing squad members with training and competition kit since the 2011 games in Indonesia. Apart from the SEA Games, NagaWorld has also supported Asian Games and Olympic Games participants.

As part of the Go For Gold SEA Games campaign, Nagaworld will reward individual gold medalists with $3,000 and will give away $5,000 for team golds.

Additionally, NagaWorld will contribute $500 to the NOCC for each gold medal won.

The athletes are being provided with a complete set of branded apparel and sports gear, which were showcased by selected athletes during the media launch.

“NagaWorld is honoured to continue our sponsorship in support of NOCC to encourage the national squad to go for gold in Malaysia,” Executive Director Pern Chen said.

“It is great honour to be part of this meaningful journey with the NOCC in promoting sports development in the country,” he added.
