Iconic Ford makes debut in Brunei

-

FROM the racetrack to the silver screen, and now on Brunei’s streets, the all-American muscle legend

Ford Mustang was unleashed in a launching ceremony Friday, at the Premier Automobiles Ford Showroom in Beribi.

Brunei was among the select number of markets in Asia to receive the new Mustang, as it marks its 50th anniversary of continuous production.

The launching was officiated by Haji Mohd Ali, the Senior Sales Manager of Baiduri Bank; and Irwan bin Haji Lamit, the Managing Director of BIBD At-Tamwil Berhad.

Customers can choose from a 5.0-litre V8 engine which produces 435 horsepower, or a new turbocharged 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine producing 310 horsepower, from Ford’s Ecoboost line-up of high performing, fuel efficient engines.

The modern and muscular interpretation of the classic Mustang design is now more aerodynamic, as it also comes with world-class handling, more precise steering control and enhanced ride comfort.

“We are thrilled to give our customers in Brunei the opportunity to own a new Mustang, which is truly the heart and soul of Ford,” said Teng Chee How, the operations manager at Premier Automobiles Sdn Bhd.

Premier Automobiles currently houses two 5.0-litre V8 and six 2.3-litre EcoBoost Ford Mustangs, all waiting to be owned. The Ford Mustang is assembled at the

Flat Rock Assembly Plant in the United States.
