Medallists to receive rewards from NagaWorld

ONE of Cambodia’s leading sports benefactor­s and long-time sponsors of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), NagaWorld will host a special reward ceremony at the NABA Theater in Naga 2 on Wednesday in celebratio­n of Cambodia’s record two gold, one bronze medal haul at the end of the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang.

The glittering function will be attended by the secretary-general of the NOCC, Vath Chamroeun, special invitees, athletes and NagaWorld senior management.

The 16-year-old gold medallist in the women’s -49 kg ju-jitsu Jessa Khan and men’s ski modified jet ski champion Ou Moeut Saly will both be awarded $10,000 each.

Saly also won a bronze with compatriot Mustan Min in the runabout 1100 stock jet ski pairing to share a $3,000 reward.

NagaWorld will also contribute an additional $1,500 and $500 for each medal won to the NOCC in keeping with convention.

The Phnom Penh Internatio­nal Airport’s arrival lounge will be turned into a massive reception centre as the members of the Cambodian contingent including the medallists disembark their flight from Jakarta at around 5.35pm on Monday.

According to NOCC Secretary General Vath Chamroeun, the PM is keen to meet the medalists and talk with them, as well as personally reward them and other members of the sports delegation.
