POST Media Co Ltd, t he owner of The Phnom Penh Post and Post Khmer, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Siem Reap Tourism Club (STC) on Friday, to collaborate in supporting the tourism industr y for sustainable development in the prov ince.

During the event, which was attended by around 80 specially invited guests from the tourism and related industries, Tayseng said The Post and Post Khmer have grown markedly since the takeover by its new management 14 months ago.

“Both have grown into truly national newspapers that now have a presence in all the Kingdom’s 25 provinces. Last year we launched our mobile app, and soon we will revamp our website as well,” he said.

He said Post Watch, which was designed from the ground up to be unlike any other news programme in Cambodia, sources its materia l straight from t he pages of t he multiple award-winning Phnom Penh

On the MoU, Tayseng said: “The fact is that if the STC’S members do well in the province and the tourism industr y grows further, they will advertise in our newspapers and on our digital channels. This presents a win-win situation for all parties.

“This is why we are committed to promoting food and beverage venues and leisure activities, as well as new tourism destinations and offerings in Siem Reap, aside from the traditional draw of Angkor Wat,” he said.

Tayseng said a ll media channels under Post Media would help promote not just tourism but other businesses and industries throughout the Kingdom.

“We are a lso keen to expand collaborations wit h ot her industries. We are ver y aggressive in this and have already expanded beyond our traditiona l advertisers,” he said.

For STC, Kao said he is excited with t he collaboration wit h Post Media as the club has numerous plans, including monthly net working events with organisers such as CAM Food Hotels and the Cambodia Chef Association.

He said the club is organising many events this year together with other stakeholders, such as a tree planting campaign, an initiative with Tan Kimsour, which is to kick off on Wednesday. There will also be tree planting events in August.

“At t he nationa l level, the STC will join t he Ministr y of Tourism to promote the Cambodia Travel Mart from October 11-16, while at t he internationa l level, we are arranging and organising potentia l investors from Singapore and other countries to come to Siem Reap for tourism, investment and ot her business opportunities.

“That is why we are ver y excited wit h t his collaboration wit h Post Media, and through it The Phnom Penh Post, Post Khmer, Post Watch and its other media channels.

“‘To go fast, go a lone; to go fa r, go together’ – this has a lways been my motto, and now with this collaboration wit h Post Media, STC is certa in t hat toget her, we will go fa r,” Kao said.
