The first case of Covid-19 in Cambodia was reported on January 27. Since then, 134,321 people have been tested for the coronavirus.

The ministry’s Communicable Disease Control (CDC) department reminded people to keep practising social distancing and recommended that weddings, parties and dances be suspended. People should wear masks and wash their hands with sanitiser, the ministry said.

Ministry spokeswoman Or Vandine said on September 23 to the US-ASEAN Business Council that Cambodia, under Prime Minister Hun Sen, had effectively controlled and responded to the Covid-19 pandemic.
