Acteus Smile donates 10,000 face masks to PSE for Cambodian vulnerable children

Acteus Group on Saturday donated 10,000 N95 face masks to the NGO Pour Un Sourire D’Enfant (PSE) – “For a Child’s Smile” in English – as part of a charity campaign to assist vulnerable children during the Covid-19 outbreak in Cambodia.

Acteus Smile is a charity programme undertaken by Acteus Group, leaders in supply chain management solutions.

Since the Covid outbreak, businesses and schools across the world have suffered due to temporary shutdowns, while some children have not had access to proper protective supplies.

During these difficult times, some charitable organisations teamed up with the international business community in Cambodia to donate items such as face masks to ensure an adequate supply during such a critical period.

Acteus general manager Pierre Combedimanche said the cooperation between Acteus Smile and PSE was to help protect children in the Kingdom.

“This donation is Acteus Smile’s way of doing its part to help enhance the safety of children of Cambodia during the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.

Founded in 1996 by Marie-France and Christian des Pallières, PSE is a Phnom Penhbased NGO that helps improve the welfare of Cambodian children so they can grow up to achieve their full potential and contribute positively to society in the future.

Marie-France des Pallières said: “Our goal is taking care of and educating kids so they are adequately trained with the skills for well-paying and quality jobs, with around 4,500 former students are currently employed in such.

“We provide some 6,000 meals per day, 1,500 healthcare consultations per week and 20 excellent vocational training courses.”

PSE’s mission is encapsulated in its “From destitution...to dignity!” motto, which drives their 600-plus employees to provide various services to destitute, mistreated, abused and unschooled children so they can escape from extreme poverty.

The charity organisation takes in 6,500-plus children every year, providing food, shelter, healthcare, education, vocational training and family support, with Acteus Smile’s donation funds part of this charitable work.
