Vietjet India routes take back to skies

A VIETJET flight from Hanoi took off for New Delhi on the afternoon of April 30, officially restarting direct flights between theVietnamese and Indian capitals after a hiatus of more than two years.

Vietjet managing director Dinh Viet Phuong said that a series of direct flights to India – a country of 1.4 billion people – restarting after the pandemic, along with other international routes, “proves” Vietjet’s efforts and commitment to bring flying opportunities to everyone, becoming a bridge for cultural, socio-economic exchange activities between countries.

On April 29, the route from Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to New Delhi also restarted, bringing joy to many passengers as it becomes easier to travel, work and visit relatives with regular direct flights between the two countries.

Two direct routes connecting HCMC and Hanoi to New Delhi are ready to welcome passengers with three roundtrips per week, steadily increasing to a round-trip per day from June,Vietjet said in a statement.

After New Delhi, Vietjet is also preparing to operate from HCMC and Hanoi to Mumbaithissummerandoperateroutes from Phu Quoc to New Delhi and Mumbai from September.

Taking around five hours, the routes connecting Vietnam to India will not only contribute to opening up more tourism opportunities and promoting the economy between the two countries, but also create convenience for passengers flying from India to other countries within the Asia-Pacific region, including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, according to VIetjet.

Other international routes connecting HCMC to the tourist paradise Bali, Indonesia and connecting Danang to Seoul, South Korea were also restored last week, bringing customers opportunities to have an incredible journey at beach tourism destinations or the most unique and attractive natural landscape and friendly people in the world.
