Edelbrock has an­nounced the re­lease of its next gen­er­a­tion in E-Street elec­tronic fuel in­jec­tion - the E-Street 2 EFI. There are many new en­hance­ments to an al­ready easy to use and af­ford­able sys­tem, mak­ing it the ideal choice for any en­thu­si­ast look­ing to con­vert to EFI. Some of Edelbrock’s new and im­proved E-Street 2 EFI fea­tures in­clude en­hanced Blue­tooth con­nec­tiv­ity for im­proved com­mu­ni­ca­tion be­tween the ECU and An­droid de­vice. It also fea­tures re­fined base cal­i­bra­tions for a re­duced self-learn­ing pe­riod, and a throt­tle body with a new black pow­der coated fin­ish that will re­tain a clas­sic un­der hood ap­pear­ance.

Other en­hance­ments in­clude the ca­pa­bil­ity to di­rect drive an ig­ni­tion coil (op­tional Ig­ni­tion Con­trol Kit re­quired), elim­i­nat­ing the ex­tra ex­pense and time in­volved with in­stalling a CDI box. It also al­lows con­sumers to fully cus­tom­ize their ig­ni­tion curve for the ul­ti­mate power and fuel econ­omy, all within the E-Tuner App. E-Tuner also al­lows the con­sumer to con­trol sev­eral pa­ram­e­ters of the sys­tem and to make ad­just­ments while driv­ing. Each sys­tem in­cludes a pre-as­sem­bled throt­tle body, en­gine con­trol unit (ECU), high qual­ity wiring har­ness, wide band O2 sen­sor and de­tailed in­struc­tions for a has­sle free in­stal­la­tion. The E-Tuner is also now com­pat­i­ble with many pop­u­lar An­droid phones and tablets, al­low­ing con­sumers to use their own per­sonal de­vice to tune and mon­i­tor their E-Street 2 EFI Sys­tem.

DEI’s pop­u­lar Ti­ta­nium Turbo Shield is now avail­able for the Gar­rett GTP38R tur­bocharger. The GTP38R turbo, de­vel­oped for the F-Se­ries Power Stroke diesel equipped en­gine, greatly im­proves HP but can gen­er­ate ex­ces­sive ra­di­ant heat un­der the hood. DEI’s Ti­ta­nium Turbo Shield, part # 010176, was cus­tom de­signed to fit the GTP38R to re­duce turbo lag, im­prove HP and add ther­mal pro­tec­tion for lon­glast­ing per­for­mance.

Tur­bos are known to gen­er­ate ex­ces­sive heat un­der the hood that can put elec­tri­cal wiring, hoses and com­po­nents at risk. The DEI Ti­ta­nium Turbo Shield serves as a high qual­ity in­su­la­tor that keeps the heat in the ex­haust path. The ex­te­rior is made of a pul­ver­ized lava rock ma­te­rial man­u­fac­tured into tightly wo­ven fibers for ti­ta­nium-like strength. The in­te­rior is made of high temp rated, sil­ica fire­proof in­su­la­tion with a fire­proof core all held to­gether with dou­ble re­in­forced seams. Rated to han­dle di­rect heat up to 1800° F / 2500° F ra­di­ant, the re­sult is more heat is kept in the ex­haust path for a cooler air in­take tem­per­a­ture and a boost in HP. An­chor­ing hooks are used to se­cure the shield to the tur­bine hous­ing.

Ad­di­tion­ally, DEI also man­u­fac­tures shields and kits for many other tur­bocharg­ers. While the GTP38R is not avail­able at this time as a kit, all other Gar­rett tur­bocharger shields are avail­able as kits which in­cludes a 2”x15’ roll of Ti­ta­nium wrap, two 20” stain­less steel zip ties, and 5’ of fas­ten­ing wire.
