Acadia swimmers second overall at AUS meet at UPEI

The Acadia swim teams will enter the AUS championsh­ips on Feb. 6 at Dalhousie second in the conference after another solid performanc­e at the final regular season meet Jan. 17- 18 at UPEI.

Acadia’s combined score of 277 points for top finishes was second overall, although it was well behind Dalhousie’s meet-leading total of 687.5.

The Acadia men were second behind Dal with 151 points, while the Acadia women were third, behind Dal and Mount Allison, with 126 points. Acadia’s 24 swimmers had four first-place swims, 17 top-threes and 72 top-10s.

Individual­ly, Luc Boudreau won the 100 and 200 breaststro­ke and was fourth in 200 IM and eighth in 100 free. Hayden Adams won the 200 back, was second in 100 back and 200 IM and third in 400 free.

Acadia’s other first-place swim came from first-year swimmer Shania Wong, who won the 50-metre breaststro­ke. Wong was also sixth in 200 breast.

Justin LeBlanc was second in 50 and 200 breast, fourth in 100 breast and seventh in 50 free. Eliza McGuire was second in 100 ‘ fly, sixth in 200 ‘ fly and 200 IM and ninth in 50 breast. Laura Beck was second in 100 back and seventh in 50 free.

Adam Deutsch was third in 400 IM, fifth in 200 IM, sixth in 100 breast and seventh in 200 breast.

Emily Halajian was third in 400 IM, fourth in 100 ‘ fly, fifth in 200 ‘ fly and seventh in 200 IM.

Collin Reynolds was third in 1,500 free, fourth in 400 IM, seventh in 400 free and ninth in 100 back.

Rebecca MacPherson was third in 100 free, fifth in 200 free and 200 back and eighth in 50 free.

Patrick Henger was third in 50 ‘ fly and seventh in 100 ‘ fly. Jessica Bent was third in 50 free, sixth in 100 ‘ fly, eighth in 50 back and 200 free and tenth in 50 ‘ fly.

Kayla Boudreau was fourth in 200 breast and 400 IM and seventh in 100 breast. Ben Corkum was fourth in 200 ‘fly, ninth in 100 ‘fly and 200 free and tenth in 400 free.

Thomas Frazer was fourth in 50 ‘ fly, eighth in 100 ‘ fly, ninth in 100 free and tenth in 200 free. Elizabeth Skuriat was fourth in 800 free, eighth in 100 back and 400 free and ninth in 200 back.
