Pokémon Go craze creates community of gamers looking to catch them all

There’s no denying that the recently-released Pokémon Go game applicatio­n for smartphone­s is a social phenomenon drawing a community of enthusiast­s together.

A newly created group, Pokémon Go – Annapolis Valley, hosted a “lure party” at the Wolfville Waterfront Park July 24, drawing an estimated 200 participan­ts.

Erica Kaines of Wolfville she’s been in love with Pokémon since she was a kid when she played it on her Gameboy. When Pokémon Go came out, she had to have it “right now” and downloaded it using an American account before its official Canadian launch. She’s been playing for the past couple of weeks.
