Election in Annapolis County
Seven council seats contested
Residents in seven of the 11 municipal districts in Annapolis County will head to the polls to elect a councillor in October.
The following current councillors were returned to their seats and acclaimed without contest as of the nomination deadline: Marilyn Wilkins in District 1, Gregory Heming in District 5, Timothy Habinski in District 7 and Martha Roberts in District 10.
District 2 ( from Brooklyn to Wilmot), District 4 ( from Belleisle to Round Hill) and District 8 (from Albany New to West Spring Hill) are guaranteed to see new representation with Coun. Brian “Fuzzy” Connell, Coun. Paul McDonald and Warden Reg Ritchie not reoffering in their respective districts.
The election is slated for Oct. 15 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Advance polls will run from noon to 8 p.m. Oct. 8 and Oct. 11.
Voters will be sent to the polls to determine the outcomes in the following races:
District 2 candidates: Paul Langille and John A. MacDonald
District 3 candidates: incumbent Wayne Fowler, David Hudson and Horace Hurlburt
District 4 candidates: Clyde Barteaux and Burt McNeil
District 6 candidates: Charles “Chuck” Cranton and incumbent Alex Morrison
District 8 candidates: Michael J. Gunn and Nancy Mc- Grath
District 9 candidates: incumbent Frank Chipman and Wendy Sheridan
District 11 candidates: incumbent Diane LeBlanc and Ron Trimper
