Council acclaimed, mayoral race continues in Annapolis Royal

Councillors are in by acclamation, but there’s a race for the mayor’s seat in Annapolis Royal.

Current deputy mayor Pat Power and newcomers John Kinsella, Holly Sanford and Owen John Elliot were acclaimed for the four town councillor positions in An- napolis Royal following the nomination deadline. But, voters will still be going to the polls to select a mayor.

Michael Tompkins is seeking re- election to the role, and mayoral candidate Bill MacDonald is challenging the incumbent for the top spot on council.
