‘This system is for everyone’

Jobs seekers and employers alike will be able to tap into some great services in Middleton as PeopleWorx joins the network of Nova Scotia’s new employment service centres across the province – Nova Scotia Works.

The offices at 298 Marshall St. were packed Sept. 23 when board chairwoman Gwenyth Dwyn was joined by clients and community partners at an afternoon open house. Middleton is one of three NS Works sites operated by PeopleWorx.

As a Nova Scotia Works Employment Centre, PeopleWorx will provide better access to high-quality, inclusive services for employers and job seekers, PeopleWorx said in a media release.

Those services and supports are delivered by qualified career practition­ers and counsellor­s, and include career counsellin­g, job search services and resources, job coaching, job developmen­t, employment workshops, and employer engagement.

The Middleton Nova Scotia Works site also offers employ-

ment-related courses such as First Aid/CPR, occupation­al health and safety, safe food handlers, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Informatio­n System – all of which are coming up in October.
