Valley business women ready to masquerade

- NEW MINAS

The Valley Women’s Business Network (VWBN) is holding a fundraiser they’ve titled a Masquerade Networking Gala.

This evening of mystery and networking is lined up for Oct. 21. Guests are invited to join VWBN members at the Louis Millett Centre in New Minas on Friday.

The Mark Riley Project will provide a smooth jazz back- drop during an evening of networking, dancing, nibbles and fun. Find unexpected surprises during the VWBN’s 14th annual fall fundraiser, including plenty of goodies at the silent auction.

Sponsorship funds are still coming in, but organizers say the fundraiser is turning into a record-breaking event for the VWBN.

Proceeds of the fundraiser go towards bursaries for graduating women entering into the field of business or wishing to start a business, support for businesswomen in developing countries through Kiva ( www. kiva. org) and support for Valley businesswomen through networking, workshops and seminars.

Sponsors include Gates Insurance, BMO, Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce, RBC Wealth Management (Paul Lannan), Taylor MacLellan Cochrane Lawyers, Staples, Investors Group, Red Dragon Marketing and a host of other businesses.

Tickets are $35 for members and students, $40 for non-members or two for $70 and can be purchased in advance from the Kimball Law Office in Wolfville and Kings Physiotherapy Clinic in New Minas and through Eventbrite (the link is available on VWBN.ca). Both men and women are welcome to attend.
