Community campfire planned for Berwick

- BERWICK

Fans of bonfires are in for a treat.

The Berwick Pathfinders and Rangers are hosting a community family campfire at Centennial Park from 7 to 8 p.m. July 26 as part of the Town of Berwick’s ongoing Canada 150-themed Concert in the Park series.

Berwick Girl Guides members will be in attendance along with exchange guests from Kingston, Ont.

“The Ontario girls arrive July 20, and we’ll have our first campfire together at Hardwood Lake Girl Guide Camp - Berwick’s ‘home away from home’ July 21. We’ll put our heads together on some favourites we all sing across the country, and try and share a few with each other from our own regions,” said 1st Berwick Pathfinders Guider Sara Keddy.

“Then, when we host the community campfire in Centennial Park in Berwick, we’ll be able to lead our families and friends and anyone interested in singing a song.”

Keddy stressed all are welcome to get in on the fun.

“We want people just to come and sing for an hour or so, enjoy a s’more and have the opportunity to share a little of what our Berwick Girl Guides know best about Berwick and Nova Scotia: we’re fun, we’re friendly and we are so excited to show off our community and province.”

In the event of inclement weather, the gathering will be held at the Kings Mutual Century Centre.
