At the Concrete House Museum
Concrete House in Centreville has a new exhibit in the Legge Gallery, featuring the work of Stéphane Richard.
Richard grew up in eastern Canada and studied art at university before going into education. He currently teaches art at the high school level. His
Works, which are on all summer, represent nature in realistic paintings, linocut prints and mixed media paintings.
Art in Annapolis Royal
Upstairs at Artsplace in Annapolis Royal currently is a Maritime culture exhibit entitled Art from the Sea. It continues until July 24, along with a sister exhibit ‘Art of Fundy Boats: Then & Now’ continuing at the O’dell House Museum.
Jennifer Angus’ intriguing exhibit Lookabout is still up and at satellite sites around town - keep your eyes open at King’s Theatre, the O’dell House, the Historic Gardens, and the Sissiboo Café.
Displaced by Carrie Allison-Goodfellow, Worlds Apart by Pene Domries and Beginning by Alannah Journeay are all showing. Journeay was last year’s ARCAC Scholarship award recipient.
Listen to artist tales
The Uncommon Common Art program is holding a series of talks on art practices and the creative process. They will be held at 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday evening in July at the Irving Centre, Wolfville.
The next talk is on July 19 when Ursula Handleigh will speak. On July 26, Kate Ward will give a talk, followed by Andrew Milne on Aug. 30. Milne’s talk will take place at the Kings Museum in Kentville.

Waterfront music happening
The town of Wolfville and the Deep Roots Festival are sponsoring a Waterfront Park Canada 150 summer music series.
The local music series features Laura Roy on July 20, followed by Gerry Davis on July 27.
On Aug. 3 The Basin Brothers are lined up to give a concert with John Tetrault singing on Aug. 10.
Then on Aug. 17 the Jill Boudreau Band will perform and on Aug 24 local entertainer Sarah Pound is slated.
The series ends on Aug. 31 with Sarah Mcinnis and the Mud Creek Boys. Each concert runs from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the outdoor setting that backs on the world’s smallest harbour and overlooks Cape Blomidon.
Take some in some improv
Acadia University music student Leone Rae is offering two summer theatre improv camps in Wolfville.
One takes place July 24-28 and then the second is slated for August 7-11. She has improv and stage skills to learn through play. No experience is necessary.

Music in Hantsport
The Hantsport Music Festival is slated for July 22 on the Foundry Road Sports Field. The entertainment includes: Signal Hill, Makayla Lynn, Willie Stratton, No Name Blues Band, the Jen Miller Band and the Curtis Matheson Band.
The music will run from 10 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Printmaking fun at Prescott House
On July 26, an art workshop will be held from 10 a.m.-noon for ages five and up. Cost is $8.
Printmaker and Prescott staff member Diana Baldwin will introduce all sorts of creative and fun ways to make prints.

Authors read in Wolfville
Writer Melanie Fishbane is giving a reading at the Box of Delights Bookshop in Wolfville on July 25.
Then on July 27 Gwen Davies is also giving a reading. Both readings will take place at 6:30 p.m.
At the Union St. Cafe
On July 28 Matthew Hornell and Grand Pre native Andrew Sneddon will entertain at the Union Street Café in Berwick. They will explore timeless music, including traditional ballads, old-time tunes and evocative original songs.
Well-loved Old Man Luedecke is lined up for Friday, August 11.
Blues festival happening in Windsor
The Smokin’ Blues Fest is lined up for the Hants County Exhibition grounds on July 28 - 29.
The first night is being billed as Ladies of East Coast Blues and will feature Christine Campbell, Kendra Gale and Mitchie Ryder.
The second night is titled East Coast All-star Jam. That lineup includes Carson Downey Band, Terry Edmunds Band and Charlie A’court.
