Berwick’s town-wide yard sale takes place on July 29. There will be many happy sellers and buyers, presuming the weather co-operates. On the same day, the South Berwick Girls Choir will be performing in Centennial Park at 2 p.m. It might be a bit of a rush to go from one to the other, but you can do it. ***

The card parties at the Rebekah Hall on Cottage Street in Berwick will resume on Aug. 5 at 7:30 p.m.

As many may know, my roots are in East Dalhousie and I like to keep connected. The fair will be on Aug. 26, so mark it on your calendar. On Sept. 17 the community will be celebrating 200 years with special events. More details will be provided later.

Raymond and Vange Wiles, of Coldbrook, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 8. They enjoyed supper at Paddies and came back to Vange’s sister’s, Sheilah Wiles, where they enjoyed cake and tea. Sister Sheilah made the anniversary cake for them. Brother Currie Veinotte from Alberta phoned with best wishes. Sheilah’s daughter, Lana Wiles, of Dartmouth, came to help them celebrate and spent the weekend with her mother.

The fifth annual antique car rides took place on July 12. Residents of Grand View Manor received fun drives from 2 to 4 p.m. That evening event organizers gave drives from the Apple Capital Museum stating at 6 p.m.

The drives were cut short by 20 minutes due to those on patrol of the corners being unable to stay and therefore it would cause a safety hazard. Therefore, I missed my drive, but I have had them before and I am sure they will be back.

In addition, the Windermere Jammers supplied music for the two hours. Strawberry sundaes were graciously supplied. The Berwick Lions provided games of chance for the children. Tours were also available of the museum. Go and check out their hours if you missed out. There is always something interesting to see.
