Middleton museum’s Christmas craft fair alive and well

- BY LAWRENCE POWELL

Rumours that the annual Middleton Christmas Craft Fair at Macdonald Museum won’t be held this year aren’t true.

Museum director Janice Pugsley-slauenwhite said a Facebook group post recently may have led people to believe the museum’s event had been cancelled.

“People have assumed it is us,” she said, noting she’s been getting inquiries about it.

“We look forward to the annual Christmas craft sale each year,” she said. “It’s a lot of fun with vendors on all three floors, prize draws each hour, and unique Christmas gifts for the whole family.”

They still have tables available and hope the Facebook confusion won’t lead vendors to not book their spots. Tables are $50 and the two-day event is a major museum fundraiser.

Pugsley-slauenwhite said people come for the crafts for the hard-to-buy-for and also for the social aspect of the festive event.

“We have a cafe where you can get yummy snacks and you can even get your wreaths and greenery decorations at our outside vendors,” she said. She said the giant craft fair is a Middleton tradition and a sure sign that the Christmas spirit is alive and well.

“This show is our No. 1 fundraiser for this non-profit organization and we get more than 1,000 people attending,” she said. “It’s a great community event.”

The craft fair is Nov. 24 from 5 to 9 p.m. and Nov 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Vendors can call 902-825-6116 to book a table.
