Animated Movie ‘Ferdinand’ - at King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal at 7 p.m. on Jan. 12 and 2 p.m. on Jan. 13. The story of a giant bull with a big heart. After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure. Tickets $10 adukt; $9 with Film Buff Card; $8 youth. Doors open 45 minutes before the show.

Goat Island Preservati­on Society - meeting at 3 p.m. at the Clementspo­rt Legion. New members welcome.

Travel with Tony to Andalucia from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Bridgetown & Area Library. Enjoy armchair travel with Tony as he shares photos and stories of his recent trip to Southern Spain. Be swept away by the magnificen­t photos of Roman ruins, mosques, Spanish countrysid­e, and more.

Community Breakfast - at the Kingston Baptist Church, 695 Main St, Kingston on Jan. 13 from 8 to 10 a.m. For a free will offering. A breakfast of traditiona­l items and also healthy choices including fruit, yogurt and homemade muffins. All are welcome!

The Wise Men Saw the Light cantata - at 2 p.m. at St. George and St. Andrew United Church in Annapolis Royal. This humorous cantata, written by David Holborn, a resident of Cornwallis Park, brings the story of the Magi to life in song and word. No ticket is required and admission is by donation. (This was postponed from Jan. 7.)

The Macdonald Museum Bridge Group - will be meeting at St. John’s United Church in Middleton, starting on Jan. 15 at 1 p.m. and continuing every two weeks after that until the end of March, weather permitting.

JAN. 16

Chase Away the Winter Blues

Tea - from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Rosa M. Harvey Middleton & Area Library. Old Man Winter is upon us and we have to warm our hearts and souls with some lively conversati­on, hot drinks, and yummy treats. We might even have a trivia quiz to test your knowledge and liven things up! Space is limited so register early. In the event of a storm cancellati­on we will be having the tea on the following Wednesday, Jan. 24.
