Police arrest two following search of Middleton residence

Two residents of an apartment in Middleton are facing charges after police executed a search warrant the morning of Jan. 23.

Annapolis District RCMP are investigat­ing recent breakand-enters in the area and with the assistance of Annapolis District Street Crime Unit gained sufficient intelligen­ce to obtain a search warrant, police said.

During the search police located one firearm, ammunition, and stolen property.

A 27-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, both of Middleton, have been charged with:

· Unsafe storage contrary to regulation­s

· Possession of a firearm knowing it›s unauthoriz­ed, and

· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Both accused will appear in Digby Provincial Court on Feb. 27.

The investigat­ion is ongoing and being led by the Annapolis District Street Crime Enforcemen­t Unit with assistance from Annapolis District RCMP members.
