HAZELWOOD, Carman Richard “Rick”

– aged 68, of South Greenwood, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 at home. Born in Berwick, he was a son of Alice Marie (Spicer) and the late Carman Lewis Hazelwood. Rick was retired from the infantry of the US Marine Corps, having served in Vietnam from 1968-69. He was a member of Trinity Pentecosta­l Church. He enjoyed sky diving, and flying remote control aircraft. Rick loved hockey and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He also spent time coaching minor league baseball while in Ontario. Rick will be sadly missed by his mother Alice Marie (Spicer), Kingston; wife, the former Nancy Llewellyn, South Greenwood; sons, David (Gillian) Hazelwood, Kingston; Matthew (Tanya) Hazelwood, Torbrook Mines; sisters Sheila (Wayne) Phillips, Orleans, Ont.; Carol Dale, Kingston; Myrna (Doug) Davis, Nictaux; Tracey Hazelwood, Ottawa, Ont.; brothers Michael (Louise) Hazelwood, Quebec; Fred (Darlene) Hazelwood, Kingston; Robert (Wendy Gallant) Hazelwood, PEI; Larry (Barbara) Hazelwood, ON; grandchild­ren Zachery, Rachel, Nicholas and Anna. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902-825-3448 from where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 16 with Pastor Mitch Lewis officiatin­g. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Donations in Rick’s memory may be made to VETS Canada (helping homeless and in-crisis Veterans), Upper Room Food Bank, Kingston or to a charity of choice.
