4-H group has a busy agenda

- BY BECKY FOSTER Becky Foster is the Mountain Ridge 4-H Club reporter.

The 2018 4-H year is well underway, with many things to report.

It may seem like Christmas was just here, but there has been a lot of work done since December.

We have had four meetings as well as a skating/christmas party for the month of December. Our first meeting was mainly for registration. At the next meeting we elected our executive. This year our president is Kristen Foster, vice-president is Becky Foster, treasurer is Tristen Saltzman, and secretary is Courtney Foster. Also myself, Becky Foster, will remain as club reporter.

We, as a club, decided that we will still bring food bank donations to every meeting and we made a donation to the Twelve Baskets Food Bank for Christmas. Also, we are going to be keeping the pop tab challenge going this year. All clubs are collecting the tabs which can be made into wheelchairs.

Project meetings have started and most members have their record sheets which were handed out last meeting. Our speeches and demos have taken place and everybody did a fabulous job. Unfortunately, no one will be attending County Rally due to prior commitments.

Members are starting to think about Fluff n Buff which will take place in May. Registration forms will soon be out. We will also be starting our chocolate bar fundraiser this month so if you have a sweet tooth that needs a fix, we will have some delicious chocolate bars to sell you.

This 4-H year is going by quickly but there’s still lots of fun to come!
