Beach was the place to be at for Raven Haven Family Fun Day

-

The little sandy beach at Sandy Bottom Lake was the place to be July 7 as friends and family from across Annapolis County and beyond converged on the municipal camping park for an afternoon of fun and games, music, and lots of food.

It was Raven Haven’s Family Fun Day. The sun was out but a breeze kept the temperature just right.

The park is owned by Annapolis County and is the site of many summer activities and boasts 15 camp sites, cabins, a hostel, canoe, kayak, and pedal boat rentals, a canteen, swimming platform, and lifeguards.

On Saturday, the beach was crowded with kids, parents, and grandparents. There were carnival games and prizes, face painting, animal balloons, a barbecue, entertainers Rachel Maclean and The Great Timbeanie, and a Bounce Kingdom.

Raven Haven will host its annual Cuban Night with Frederic Mujica on July 21. It runs from 8 to 10 p.m. and includes live entertainment, a barbecue, and is open to all ages.
