Have you ever wanted to ride shotgun in a Jeep from the Second World War?

If so, you’re in luck. And if not, you can have a go anyway at the 2018 Wings and Wheels Car Show in Greenwood.

The show draws its unique name from the classic, antique, and special interest cars it features that are parked beneath vintage aircraft at the Greenwood Military Aviation Museum.

Event coordinator David Saulnier writes in a release that the event promises to offer something exciting for all age groups, including rides in two war-time Jeeps, live music performed by six-piece group Jazz Combo and air-conditioned shopping at the Canex Mall.

“It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No wait, it’s a flock of planes… surrounded by some of the Maritime’s coolest rides,” writes Saulnier.

“Young, old, or somewhere in between, you’re guaranteed to find something of interest at Wings & Wheels.”

This year’s show is set to showcase more than 250 cars, guided tours inside vintage airplanes like the Hercules, Aurora and a Labrador helicopter.

People will also get to peek inside the Lancaster and T-bird airplanes and enjoy shade under the larger wings of the Neptune and Argus aircrafts.

The event will be held Sept. 8, with doors opening at 10 a.m. at the museum. The cost to enter vehicles for showcase is $5, and a rain date has been set for Sept. 9.
