FEDERAL SENTENCE FOR UPPER DYKE MAN

An Upper Dyke man will serve federal time after pleading guilty to property, weapon and drugrelate­d charges.

Keifer Andrew Belliveau, 28, was present in Kentville provincial court in custody on Nov. 7, when he was sentenced to a total of 32 months in custody on six charges.

He pleaded guilty on Nov. 7 to break, enter and theft involving a house in Spa Springs; and carrying a concealed weapon – a started pistol – while not being authorized to carry a concealed weapon under the Firearms Act.

Judge Christophe­r Manning sentenced Belliveau to 10 months in custody on the break, enter and theft charge and sentenced him to two months in custody - to be served concurrent­ly - for carrying a concealed weapon. The court granted a forfeiture order for the starter pistol.

Charges of possessing stolen property of a value not exceeding $5,000 and carrying an imitation weapon – the started pistol – for a purpose dangerous to the public peace were withdrawn on Nov. 7.

Belliveau committed the offences in Spa Springs on July 13. The matters of two co-accused on the charges of break, enter and theft and possession of stolen property – Sarah Jade Smith and Jordan Donald Delorey – remain before the court in Annapolis County.

Belliveau pleaded guilty in October to a charge of being unlawfully inside a house. He had originally been charged with break and enter and committing the indictable offence of mischief but pleaded guilty to the lesser, included offence of being unlawfully inside a house. Belliveau also pleaded guilty in October to pos- sessing a stolen Honda ATV of a value not exceeding $5,000. These matters were adjourned for sentencing.

On Nov. 7, Belliveau was sentenced to 10 months in custody – to be served consecutiv­ely – for being unlawfully inside a house and was sentenced to two months in custody – to be served concurrent­ly – for possessing the stolen ATV. The court granted a standalone restitutio­n order for $325.24 to be paid to the victim in relation to the charge of being unlawfully inside a house.

Belliveau committed the offences in North Kingston on Aug. 19. A charge of committing mischief by willfully damaging a wardrobe to a value not exceeding $ 5,000 was withdrawn on Nov. 7.

Belliveau pleaded guilty on Oct. 31 to a charge of possessing hydromorph­one and morphine for the purpose of traffickin­g and a charge of possessing canna- bis marijuana for the purpose of traffickin­g. The matters were adjourned for sentencing.

On Nov. 7, Belliveau was sentenced to 12 months in custody – to be served consecutiv­ely – for possessing hydromorph­one and morphine for the purpose of traffickin­g. The court granted a secondary DNA order, imposed a 10- year firearm prohibitio­n against Belliveau and granted a forfeiture order for items seized in relation to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act charge.

Belliveau was sentenced to six months in custody – to be served concurrent­ly – for possessing cannabis marijuana for the purpose of traffickin­g.

Belliveau committed the offences in Auburn on June 27, 2017. A charge of possessing morphine for the purpose of traffickin­g and a charge of possessing psilocybin were withdrawn on Nov. 7.
