Valley Thunder Lacrosse hosts winter development program
Valley Thunder Lacrosse, based out of Kingston and Berwick rinks, is offering a box lacrosse program for youth ages five to 18 from April through the end of June. Facilitated by trained coaches and a volunteer organization, the club is a member of Lacrosse Nova Scotia.
The club will host a winter development program at Pine Ridge Middle School for eight weeks, for youth born in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.Valley Thunder athletes and any newcomers to the sport are welcome. Sessions will focus on stick handling, passing and ingame drills. Valley Thunder Peewee coach Lisa Holloway will be the head coach, with several of Valley Thunder’s older athletes acting as assistant coaches.
Sessions will run 7 to 8 p.m. Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and 14, Jan. 4, 11, 18 and 25, and Feb. 8. There are no scheduled dates for cancellations. The program fee is $40, payable by cash or cheque to Valley Thunder Lacrosse or a $5 per session dropin fee (participants may drop in or join the program at any time). There will be no refunds after Dec. 7.
All participants must complete a registration form and a Lacrosse Nova Scotia waiver. Participants should have a hockey helmet with cage, hockey or CSA approved gloves and a lacrosse stick. If you don’t, please let organizers know and they can help source loaner gear.
