Six adults charged after two-month drug traffickin­g investigat­ion

A two-month drug investigat­ion in Annapolis County has resulted in six adults being charged with drug offences.

RCMP from Annapolis and Kings counties searched three homes on Dec. 6 and arrested the suspects. As a result of the investigat­ion two ounces of cocaine and approximat­ely 200 methamphet­amine pills were seized.

The following people have been charged:

-- Joshua Leslie Vroom, 33, of Bloomingto­n, Annapolis County is charged with possession of methamphet­amine for the purpose of traffickin­g, two counts of unauthoriz­ed possession of firearms, and two counts of unsafe storage of firearms;

-- Madeline Leigh Kiley, 21, of Bloomingto­n, Annapolis County is charged with possession of methamphet­amine for the purpose of traffickin­g, two counts of unauthoriz­ed possession of firearms, and two counts of unsafe storage of firearms;

-- Max B. Trask, 23, of Middle- ton is charged with possession of methamphet­amine for the purpose of traffickin­g and two counts of breach of recognizan­ce;

-- Jemini Christian Hayward, 24, of Middleton is charged with two counts of possession of methamphet­amine for the purpose of traffickin­g;

-- Travis Edward Tremblay, 47, of Wilmot is charged with two counts each of traffickin­g methamphet­amine and one count of traffickin­g benzodiaze­pine, also two counts of possession of property obtained by crime;

-- Justin Lawrence Mader, 37, of Margaretsv­ille is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of traffickin­g.

Vroom, Kiley, Trask, Hayward, and Tremblay have been released and are scheduled to return to Digby Provincial Court on Jan. 30. Mader was also released and is scheduled to return to Kentville Provincial Court on Feb. 12.

The investigat­ion was led by Annapolis District RCMP Street Crime Enforcemen­t Unit with collaborat­ion from other area police forces and RCMP units, police said in a media release.

Assistance was provided by police officers from Kings District Street Crime Enforcemen­t Unit, Annapolis and Kings district RCMP, and Kings District General Investigat­ion Section. RCMP Southwest Nova Police Dog Services also assisted with this operation.

The SCEU unit in Annapolis District are members of the RCMP. The SCEU unit in Kings District includes members of the RCMP and Kentville Police Service.
