• Harry Potter Book Night

— At the Murdoch C. Smith Memorial Library, 131 Main St., in Port Williams, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Get sorted into houses and compete to see if your team will advance to the finals of the Port Williams Triwizard Tournament. Intended for youth ages seven years and up. Registrati­on is required but the event is free.

— At NSCC Kingstec, 236 Belcher St., Kentville at 7:30 p.m. The topic is ‘Green Revolution: Plant natural products as a continuing source of novel active biochemica­ls.’ The guest speaker will be Dr. Nicoletta Faraone from the Department of Chemistry at Acadia University, who will speak on her latest research projects regarding the discovery of bioactive natural products for pest management and crop protection and their applicatio­n in the food and health industries.

• Noon Luncheon — The Kingston Lions Club will host their monthly community luncheon at 1482 Veterans Lane, in Kingston, from noon until 1 p.m. Cost: $10 at the door; $11 delivery to the Kingston/ Greenwood area. For delivery, call 902-765-2128 by 10:30 a.m.
