Known property crime offender charged after break and enter spree

-

Seventeen charges have now been laid against a suspect, after a threeday break and enter crime spree in Surrey that occurred between November 25 and 28, 2018.

After receiving multiple break and enter reports to residences and businesses during this time, the Surrey RCMP Property Crime Target Team (PCTT) quickly initiated an investigation. Investigators began gathering and reviewing evidence as well as liaising with other Lower Mainland police agencies. Through information sharing and local police knowledge, the investigation continued and a suspect male and suspect vehicle were identified.

On November 28, 2018, Surrey RCMP Frontline officers located the suspect vehicle in a parking lot in the 15300 block of 24th Avenue with a lone male, believed to be the suspect, asleep in the driver’s seat. Additional officers attended the scene and set up containment around the suspect vehicle. The driver woke up and immediately placed the suspect vehicle into drive, ramming into policing vehicles and driving over spike belts in the process.

The suspect vehicle was located a short distance away parked and unattended on Lee Street in White Rock. Plainclothes officers from PCTT quickly attended the area and began patrols, where they eventually located the suspect male who was arrested without further incident.
