The November issue of Bcbusiness claims that UBC'S Sauder MBA is “The only Canadian MBA with a mandatory Global Immersion Experience” taking students to diverse destinations.
This claim is incorrect. In fact, the Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria has had a mandatory global immersion experience in its program since the late 1990s. Last year, our students travelled to China and India, and this year are headed to Colombia and Malaysia.
International education is one of the pillars of the Gustavson school, and we are proud of our track record. Fully three-quarters of our current-day MBA class come from other countries, and they receive a truly international educational experience. In addition to global immersion, they undergo indepth education, across several courses in the curriculum, in the business and social issues that arise in an intercultural milieu.
Gustavson has extensive partnerships with overseas universities, an outstanding international exchange program and, in addition to the MBA, a unique graduate degree devoted to global management, the Master of Global Business, or MGB.
