Tasked with creating a vision of a sustainable city for “The Best Intentions” (p.44), Vancouverbased designer and illustrator Cynthia Tran Vo wanted to help readers imagine an attainable future that's close at hand, rather than a far-distant sci-fi world. “These proposed pathways don't feel out of place—they're all very realistic, and I could definitely see Vancouver easing into them,” she says.
Bcbusiness associate editor Nathan Caddell wrote our “Business of Good” feature (p.31) after determining the results with the four judges. “We had a ton of worthy applicants, it was really tough,” Caddell says of the process. “Getting to meet and talk to the finalists was incredibly insightful.there are so many B.C. companies doing great things, and I'm proud that we were able to shine a light on some of them.”
