West Ridge Fine Homes engages modern rustic design that boldly imprints its own style.

Finding inspiration everywhere they build, West Ridge Fine Homes brings unique spirit and originality to quality custom homes. Wellcrafted and extremely captivating in its appeal, modern rustic influences boldly imprint their own imitable style in the pristine setting of Silverhorn.

Known for their personal builder concierge service and an aversion to bland replication, West Ridge Fine Homes creates current abodes that mirror and often embellish the lifestyle, taste, and distinctive vision of their clients. Not one to cut corners, West Ridge prefers to use the best products available that will enhance superb home designs.

“We focus on providing an exceptional experience for our homeowners at any budget, from design to many years past warranty. Our bond with our clients is a lasting one,” affirms owner Marc Lehouillier, who is currently a preferred builder in Silverhorn and Greenhaven Estates in Okotoks.

Their show home in Silverhorn reflects this highly focused philosophy that was initially inspired by a ski chalet in Vale, Colorado. “We thought it would fit in quite well in Calgary and Silverhorn especially. We carefully reviewed what the majority of families prefer in Bearspaw and determined it was about freedom and choice,” adds Marc.

Securing the talents of Ellergodt Design, the home pushes design limits, while taking full advantage of the unique Bearspaw landscape with a generous lot that backs onto a ravine and the wonders of Silverhorn’s natural habitat. “Marc suggested a mountain theme and I quickly agreed. There are many examples of traditional architecture in Calgary, yet modern contemporary styles more easily allows one to showcase unique and interesting features,” shares Brent Ellergodt.

Stone, warm wood, and metal elements blend with shed rooflines and generous glazing with dazzling results. Created with family and entertainment in mind, the open floor plan also hosts private areas with a meditation room, home theatre, lofted bonus room, and a full gym that mingles with large, open spaces. Dual masters and two additional bedrooms in the basement provide a comfortable and luxurious home for a family with older children or frequent guests. “Visitors definitely stay in comfort with a full wet bar, home theatre, and second laundry,” admits Marc.

Showcasing the interior design talents of Lindsay O Creative, she guided a modern, rustic approach with refined lines, clean contrasts, and warm elements. “It’s a bold new space with bold punches of colour, “describes Lindsay.

Featuring 3,300 square feet on main and lofted areas, the home hosts an additional 1,500-square-foot basement on a two-acre lot. At the rear, the bank slopes down to a private pond with views of rolling hills to enhance neighborhood charms. Large, triple-glazed windows embrace interiors with visually stunning views beyond. The highefficiency furnace adds savings with a boiler warming basement and garage surfaces.

A smart home of ease and convenience, the Crestron Pyng system integrates home function, controlling the lights, shades, HVAC, security, door locks, fireplace, and audio/video for the entire home. Viewed and activated remotely or through the touch screen on the main floor, it further manages remote entry and front door surveillance.

“Visitors to our show home love its unique design and how big the house feels, given a modest footprint that promotes energy savings,” says Marc. “They are drawn to its openness and how refreshing the décor is. Plus, there is not one flat ceiling above ground.” Sloped or vaulted to form interest and create room definition, the home is anything but cookie-cutter in look, feel, and function.

A warm walnut staircase provides unobstructed views with 10ml. glass inserts enhancing its open tread design that leads to lofted heights. Brushed American Walnut hardwoods provide character and balance to the décor. Generous great room glazing provides

Modern Mountain exteriors are enhanced by kayu batu exotic wood that clads the contours of the façade with cedar, triple-garage doors, and Black Pearl ledge stone.
