“This was the original home on the estate. They have lived here for twenty years and after building their new home decided they wanted to keep it,” explains Mcilroy. With easy maintenance in mind, they gave the home a fresh façade with Douglas fir timber details on the new dormer for visual interest. “They wanted composite board and baton siding that is both attractive, extremely durable, and maintenance free,” adds Mcilroy. A standing seam metal roof further offers resilient weather resistance and a wrap-around deck at the rear of the home hosts optimum sunlight and ample outdoor areas for the enjoyment of a natural landscape.
Also replacing the walkways and driveway, DVC Homes incorporated a concrete float finish with a swirl pattern, providing traction for pedestrians and drivers alike. The modern farmhouse décor features vinyl plank flooring in a barn board aesthetic with extreme durability given the rigours of country living. Dual furnaces also offer separate climate control for main and basement levels.
