Avis Part­ners with Tai­wan High Speed Rail

Through a new part­ner­ship with Tai­wan High Speed Rail (THSR), Avis Car Rental will pro­vide ac­cess to rental ve­hi­cles at six of THSR’s eight sta­tions in the western part of the coun­try. As the first in­ter­na­tional car rental com­pany to op­er­ate on the is­land, this re­la­tion­ship will bring the to­tal of Avis’s net­work to a to­tal of 20 ser­vice points in Tai­wan.

“We are fo­cused on broad­en­ing our global foot­print while main­tain­ing strong mar­gins,”said Pa­tric Sinis­calchi, pres­i­dent, Latin Amer­ica/Asia Pa­cific, Avis Bud­get Group.“Our part­ner­ship with Tai­wan High Speed Rail will al­low us to do so by pro­vid­ing leisure and busi­ness trav­el­ers in the western part of Tai­wan with con­ve­nient ac­cess to rental ve­hi­cles.”

Avis will pro­vide new rental lo­ca­tions at six of the eight lo­ca­tions along the high speed rail line that runs ap­prox­i­mately 214 miles along the west coast of Tai­wan, from the cap­i­tal city of Taipei to the south­ern city of Kaoh­si­ung. The coastal route served more than 44 mil­lion busi­ness and leisure pas­sen­gers in 2012.
