Most folks measure progress by the steel they see, the physical manifestation of grand plans. They should get some satisfaction out in Denver. The South Terminal Redevelopment Project has reached a milestone of sorts. Vertical construction is evident as the 519-room Westin Hotel and Conference Center takes shape.

Also in the works is a commuter rail station that will link the relatively remote airport. A train ride downtown will take half an hour.
