Single-family feel condos’ appeal G8
In the Ridge show suite at Cranston Ridge, characteristics of a single-family home are at every turn. Whether the buyer is downsizing from a larger house or it’s their first purchase, that single-family feel makes a difference.
Cranston Ridge is a new condo development by Cardel Lifestyles in Brookfield Residential’s community of Cranston.
The development recently opened five new show suites including the 964-square-foot Ridge floor plan.
As a standard, the floor plan features soaring nine-foot ceilings and has a shared open-concept living space that ties in a large kitchen, dining area and great room.
All three spaces get a good dose of sunlight through an eight-foot wide floor-to-ceiling patio door and transom window above, which is accessed from the great room. All of the condo’s windows are energy-efficient and designed to keep the place warmer in frostier temperatures and cooler when it’s hot outside.
When the weather calls for quality time in the fresh air, the patio offers a welcome retreat.
It’s a generous size and when located on the main level of the building, the patio tacks on an additional 169 square feet.
The great room has an optional electric fireplace. It’s easy to picture this space used for a relaxing night with a bowl of popcorn and a Netflix marathon. But it also works for entertaining friends.
The kitchen is in a U-shape that points the sink and extended eating bar toward the great room. This means there’s no feeling disconnected from the conversation when people are on the couch.
The kitchen is a sleek, stylish space with a wall oven as an upgraded option. Its standards include an appliance package with a smooth-top range, hood fan and multi-program dishwasher. There’s also a stainless steel sink, chrome single-handle faucet and full-height backsplash.
The two bedrooms are found on either side of the great room. Its master bedroom has a large walkthrough closet that links to the ensuite.
The ensuite has dual sinks and a handy linen closet. Flooring in both the ensuite and the condo’s full bathroom comes in a durable linoleum.
The full bathroom is just a few steps away from the secondary bedroom on the other end of the floor plan.
Having the great room as a buffer between the two bedrooms helps with privacy and would work well in a roommate situation.
To the left of the entrance to the condo is a laundry room with a small storage space.
The laundry room comes with a stacked front-load energy-efficient washer and dryer.
