Two home invasions in southeast Calgary under investigation
City police believe two home invasions in southeast Calgary on Tuesday night may be connected.
The first incident was reported to police around 9: 20 p. m., about an hour after it occurred, said Sgt. Cory Ma.
Officers were called to the 300 block of Penswood Way S. E. in Penbrooke Meadows after four to six people — described as black males in dark clothing with their faces unmasked — broke into a home, Ma said.
“The offenders were said to have weapons, including but not exclusive to knives, crowbar, and possibly a gun,” he said.
It’s not known how many people were at home or who called police, he added. A vehicle, believed to be a BMW car, was stolen from the scene.
About two hours later, police were called to a second home invasion in the 2200 block of 36th Street S. E. and received a similar suspect description.
A laptop was stolen and the offenders may have fled in a black truck, possibly a Ford F150, Ma said.
