Ketchup and Fries, and other trends

-

The newest, hottest plant this year is a cross between a tomato and a potato.

Ketchup and Fries is a tomato grafted onto a potato plant. And it’s big in 2015.

But the novelty plant is just one of the new and exciting gardening trends John Duncan will cover in his presentation: What’s New for 2015.

Another ongoing gardening trend is growing your own food.

“It gets bigger and bigger every year,” says Duncan, green goods manager at greengate Garden Centres, the garden show’s presenting sponsor.

To keep things interesting, “try one or two new things in your yard every year and see how it works for you,” Duncan suggests.

And he always recommends growing the appropriate plant materials for your yard: the right plant, for the right place.
