Giving the garden a makeover

-

When a garden gets a makeover, everyone benefits.

Kath Smyth, horticulturist with the Calgary Horticultural Society, will explain how Calgary gardeners can easily create a beautiful, hardy garden without spending a lot of money.

By using existing plant material, and getting some help from friends, a garden can be updated at a very low cost. And if designed properly, with the right mix of plants, it will require minimal maintenance, watering and fertilizing. It almost takes care of itself.

A makeover can “increase the value of your property and create a better neighbourhood, without a huge investment,” says Smyth, who speaks at the garden show Sunday at 9: 30 a. m.
