Take the garden vertical
It’s possible to live in an apartment, condominium or other small space and still be a happy and prolific gardener.
The key, according to Olds College horticultural instructor Kim Wickwire, is to go vertical.
“Vertical gardening is about optimizing space in yards and balconies,” says Wickwire.
She will highlight new systems for growing plants on trellises and the sides of buildings, plus plants that have the ability to climb, during her discussion on Sunday at 1 p. m.
