SAGE PLACE OPENS FIVE SHOW SUITES

- JOSH SKAPIN

There’s lots to like about the new Sage Place condos, and now potential buyers can tour through five examples of what’s available for purchase.

Sage Place is a 192-unit development by multi-family builder Cardel Lifestyles. Prices start at $189,900.

The development’s first show suites will open today.

This is one of the six Cardel condo projects in various stages of sales and development, including two in Cranston and one each in Auburn Bay, Nolan Hill and Panorama Hills.

Part of the Sage Place appeal is its marquee location, putting residents only a short drive from a long list of shops, services, restaurants and big box stores, says Brad Logel, Cardel Lifestyles’ sales and marketing manager. The show suites and sales centre for the development are located at 450 Sage Valley Dr. N.W., just off Shaganappi Trail.

“There is a lot there and more coming,” says Logel.

Sage Place sits across the street from a future commercial site. Beacon Hill and Creekside Shopping Centres are a quick drive away. Major chain stores located near the development include Canadian Tire, Costco, Starbucks, Home Depot, Superstore and Future Shop.

The lineup of show suites features four two-bedroom floor plans and another that’s a 624-squarefoot, one-bedroom orientation.

The two largest show suites are corner units dubbed the Edgemont and the Tuscany. Both feature six generously sized windows that provide a healthy dose of sunshine.

“We have big windows,” Logel says. “Brighter homes, happier people. People don’t want to look at walls.”

The Edgemont is 960 square feet and includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The 1,038-square-foot Tuscany model includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a den.

Then there’s the 654-square foot Anniversary floor plan and the 897 square foot Sage. The Anniversary has two bedrooms and one bathroom and the Sage includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

“This is the home where you look at it and say ‘Geez, there are new home plans (out there) with less kitchen than ours,’” says Logel of the Sage floor plan.

The Anniversary is a hit with a wide range of demographics, Logel says. It starts at less than $200,000. “Ultimately, anyone who is looking for a smaller two bedroom, one bathroom condo, it’s a bit of a nobrainer because it’s super affordable,” adds Logel. “You can have a roommate, (or) you can use (the extra bedroom) as a spare bedroom or a den.”

Most of the first and second buildings at Sage Place are sold out. Possessions at the first building are slated to start this week.

Show suites at the development are open from 2-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from noon to 5 p.m. on weekends.
