Hartley and Hudler were standouts

-

Re: “Hartley, Hudler haul in hardware,” June 25.

For men who play one of the most exciting games on Earth, it was difficult to believe that all those stone faces in suits had any kind of emotion.

I am proud to say Jiri Hudler and the coach of the Calgary Flames, Bob Hartley, at least tried to insert some humour and appreciation into a night of strained, bored people, who gave off an impression that if they even chuckled, it might crack their faces.

Talk about a tough, uppity crowd. Sure hope they loosened up in Vegas as the night went on. No one would even sing when a singer asked them to sing a small part of a chorus.

Tough crowd — very tough crowd. M. Schacht, Calgary
